Another online game I used to play was GPRO - a browser based motor racing manager game. I kinda left it for a long time, a few years ago.

Plenty of data, easy enough for you to grab that data - but as complex a game as you make it; generates revenue via "Supporter credits" - so you have access to last race data, but to access all your historical races, need to get credits. Tools have emerged to store your race data, obviously you need to keep on top to stop missing races.

I took a look, and the game has added new things - not major, in terms of gameplay, but a new race display, a Steam version, a few more data points exposed.

That game has, from memory, 4 devs, launched in 2006.

That gives some context for where MFN is now, imo. With a quarter of the devs, JDB has implemented a more complex simulator, with more input variables. Gpro has car setup, and "orders" and that's about it; MFN has a fairly complex rules based approach to "dynamically" react.to situations.

Whatever happens to MFN going forward, people should, irrespective of their view about the state of the game right now, applaud JDB for what he has achieved.

I have "legacy credits" - do those ever get "refilled" or does that essentially just get exhausted and then I bridge over to payment?

You guys should be thanking JDB for all the fun you've had over the years and not bitching about a few dollars to play a game. Why do you guys think people should work for free? I sure as **** don't work for free. What does JDB even care if we all leave since he doesn't make money on the game and may even lose money running it. I'm not disappointed in the subscription model I'm disappointed in my whiney *** fellow players that can't pony up a few dollars to enjoy a game.

I don’t think anyone is complaining that they now have to pay , it’s just the manner in how this has all happened .

No updates to the game in god knows how long but now we have to pay ?
Albeit you can own ONE team and play for free , which a few have chosen to do and in turn abandoned other leagues .

As for how much it costs , what may be a few dollars to you is just another bill to others.
It’s not up to you , me or anyone else to say what is a fair price . Many folks are trying real hard to make ends meet .

IMO this is going to kill a large amount of the game and until more new players (if) come in the game is on a slippery slope .

6 month and 12 month discounts are a immediate necessity says the person with 5 legacy credits and the 100% free option and absolutely no ideas to move from that until my legacy credits expire.
Which reminds me - folks like me holding those legacy credits better accept right now that either legacy credits will be removed or become something else entirely.
Like achievable "tokens" or nothing at all.
There are so many revenue options in this game it's just bonkers.
The best part is that everything that currently exists in the game can be optioned into a carrot without giving any player any edge.

a badge for admins with 6 or12+ months paid? Heck ya I want to know my admin will be around long term.
Tokens for completing a season? a winning record? making the playoffs or even more for a league championship.
Dern right the code already exists.

Legacy credits have all the opportunity to fade away or become items earnable by any player (free to full $) that - perhaps - could be exchanged for a month sub?

who knew these options were available?
I did. I do. Ive done this. Im already working on a presentation. I absolutely don't care beyond giving the idea, the chain of purchase, and "concepts of acquisition."

See y'all after the remorse fades and the ideas begin to blossom.
What can be done with what we have?
There are better minds than mine out there, get to it.
Either I love MFN or I don't.
But I do ;)

Then again, there is always room for improvement.
Exclude the game.
The UI is next.
NOW IS THE TIME, my fellow creators.

It’s taken me a while to get to this conclusion, but here it is.
I run two well established leagues , the length of time these have been running has no bearing on attracting new players in, they simply choose one they like the look of, usually one that has a fair amount of human players in.

Now both of my leagues have lost players and it doesn’t look good, I’m now (for the first time) taking in players that have only just joined , this can be a good thing but usually bad as they come in , make random moves then leave .

So why should I run multiple leagues ?
It’s a good question. Two parts to this , simply I like running leagues and secondly if I see a league without an owner , will jump in and help., why I have two leagues .
But both are now suffering, if they go under the threshold , that will be it for me. I will not run any more leagues , a little bit of help would be nice , but as it’s
Not going to happen , I’ve made my mind up. My leagues go, so do I.

Fix the game and maybe I’ll pay.

At the risk of looking stupid, what was wrong with that play?

Unless I'm missing something, receiver dropped ball, defensive hold not called - which seems realistic to me?

95% of passes in MFN over 12-13 air yards are dropped. Long passing is broken completely.

If you use long passing at all in MFN you can't win which I think what Gustoon is referring too.

Yes there are 75 yard TD passes in MFN but 99% of them are on 1 on 1 coverage and the pass connects around 10 yards past the line of scrimmage and the receiver breaks a tackle and takes it to the house.

Yes that happens but when was the last time you saw a 20+ pass connect in the air?
