Upgraded sub and options now available.

I'll try to clear it so that all changes will be enabled. I'll get back to you all.

As of one minute ago, the matrix now allows you all to move players wherever.

This is intended as a one off transitional change to the new UI.

This affects depth chart, overrides and changing a position, so you can move a DE with poor rushing stats but good cover skills back if your dark heart requires.

NOTE IN BIG LETTERS.

This allows you to convert CB to DE. Now bear in mind that I trust people to use this responsibly.

ONLY CONVERT PLAYERS WITH A +/- 50lb WEIGHT RANGE, WEIGHTS LISTED BELOW.

If people take advantage by switching a CB to DE, then when the matrix is re-enabled, that player will be a DE, and thus plays at DE despite being around 30lbs underweight and gaining advantage.

I'll not look favourably upon that at all.

WEIGHTS

QB - 220
RB - 217
FB - 243
TE - 257
WR - 198
LT - 312
LG - 308
C - 283
RG - 316
RT - 318
LDE - 276
DT - 300
RDE - 276
SLB - 242
MLB - 245
WLB - 237
CB - 191
FS - 206
SS - 207

AFTER THE FINAL WEEK OF LATE FREE AGENCY BUT BEFORE PRE-SEASON GAME 1, THE MATRIX WILL BE RE-INSTATED

Planned Matrix

This was the current matrix as inherited.

QB -> QB, RB, KH
RB -> RB, WR, KR, PR, ST Blocker
FB -> RB, FB, TE, WR, ST Blocker
TE -> RB, FB, TE, WR, C, LS, ST Blocker
WR -> WR, KR, PR
All O Line -> All O Line positions, LS, ST Blocker
P -> P, K, KO, FG
K -> P, K, Ko, FGK
All D line -> All D line, all LB, ST rusher, gunner
All LBs -> All LB spots, all secondary, gunner, st rusher
All secondary -> all secondary spots, KR, PR, gunner, st rusher

The above will be amended to :-

QB -> QB, RB, KH
RB -> RB, WR, KR, PR, ST Blocker, KH
FB -> RB, FB, TE, WR, ST Blocker, KH
TE -> RB, FB, TE, WR, C, LS, ST Blocker, KH
WR -> WR, KR, PR, KH
All O Line -> All O Line positions, LS, ST Blocker, KH
P -> P, KO, KH
K -> K, Ko, FGK
All D line -> All D line, all LB, ST rusher, gunner, KH
All LBs -> All LB spots, all secondary, gunner, st rusher, KH
All secondary -> all secondary spots, KR, PR, gunner, st rusher, KH

Changes:-

1. Anyone can be a kick holder.
2. Punter removed from kicking duties other than Kickoffs - ENSURE YOU HAVE A KICKER.
3. Kicker removed from punting - ENSURE YOU HAVE A PUNTER.
4. FB can also play TE .

Suggested to me about allowing TE as C.

My initial thoughts are there's around a 30lb weight difference, so a speed benefit by playing underweight TE at C. Converting though, I can see working as some bocking TE would be candidates.

The problem is the matrix covers both depth chart/override position AND conversion positions.

What I'll do from season 2047 is to allow TE at C, solely for the purpose of allowing people to convert a TE to C. If it gets abused, then will revert back.

Also, for those not aware, MFN-1 currently has a feature around needing a minimum number of players in the depth chart positions; owner fails to do so, then the game auto-corrects, even recruiting/making cuts if need be.

A number of issues being ironed out atm on it, so no release date for it yet - something for you to be aware of.

DB -> LB was allowed by the matrix; this was an error on my part and has now been removed.

Any admins will know what a pain the matrix is to use...

Anyone adversely affected by this being corrected ahead of the season can request cap clearance.

As a league we agreed to use Seth's rules with minimal tweaking.

TE as WR? Sure, no advantage.
WR as TE - exploits game engine.

The league was always set up to be as realistic as possible, so the matrix was set as below.

QB -> QB, RB, KH
RB -> RB, WR, KR, PR, ST Blocker, KH
FB -> RB, FB, TE, WR, ST Blocker, KH
TE -> RB, FB, TE, WR, C, LS, ST Blocker, KH
WR -> WR, KR, PR, KH
All O Line -> All O Line positions, LS, ST Blocker, KH
P -> P, KO, KH
K -> K, Ko, FGK
All D line -> All D line, all LB, ST rusher, gunner, KH
All LBs -> All LB spots, all secondary, gunner, st rusher, KH
All secondary -> all secondary spots, KR, PR, gunner, st rusher, KH

It turns out... that's not what the matrix looks like.

JDB introduce a reciprocal functionality to it - so if you allow a TE to play at WR... it also thus sets WR to be able to play at TE. This hadn't. to best of my knowledge, been communicated.

The rules we had were set up to allow heavier to play at lighter, but not vice versa to avoid game exploits - ironically that's what the matrix was set up for...

Options are either remove RB from playing WR or put up with Smirt tactics in what was always intended to be a more serious, realistic league.

I'll run the league this season as is, but a serious discussion is needed how the league matrix runs going forward. I'm also happy to stand down if anyone else wants to run the league.

In the interests of disclosure, discussions are going on (mainly me ranting again...).

The situation is simply that the matrix controls player position changes and depth/chart, overrides positioning.
The reason if you click to allow RB as WR that it automatically selects WR as RB is that an owner may convert a RB to WR only to then find no path back.

My pushback is that player conversion and the depth chart/overrides via matrix should be two separate concerns.

We can only run with what we've got this season, folks, so please don't exploit. I see no good reason to extend the sim delay in the league further.

To further clarify, since I often confuse myself.

At present it's possible to make position change, place into the depth chart contrary to the list above. Until the code issue is resolved, not much can be done.

Just be sensible, play nice and play by the spirit of the league, please.

General rule; player in position of higher weight should be able to play in lighter weight position, but vice versa isn't intended.
