Reading this back, when you say starters, does this refer to people's depth charts and how to overrides factor into that?
For example, could have DEs in L/RDE depth charts, using overrides play LBs... presumably new UI would prevent that.
Yes the same code the controls position switching controls depth chart and override position.

Not too get too deep in the weeds on tangential details but one of the others leagues where I have a team is going to include Punters as eligible to be Kick Holders (instead of just QB's being the only position group that can serve as Kick Holder). This makes sense as this still occurs in real football.

Just an idea I have, but I’ll throw it out there and I’m sure it’ll generate a response either condemning it or perhaps it may be considered, but here it is!
I very much like this amendment towards positional changes! BUT, and this is my idea (most likely will be up for debate), every season the amendment towards positional changes should be in effect from regular season, midweek one till the end of season. And from the start of free agency (1) till the last game of preseason I believe during this so-called grace. Every team owner can do whatever they wish to their roster in terms of position changes (that would mean the rule towards position changes will not be in effect during this grace period).
I like this amendment, but I'm likely to forget to change it without constant reminders.
The other problem is that this allows for the CB > DE move.
Agree 100% with the innovative idea By Offensive Taco as to the issue of an early season open window for position changes. Doing so would allow for a weight increase from FB to TE to help alleviate the shortage of viable players at this key position. Limits can still be set in our rules to disallow specific unrealistic position changes like CB to DE.

Over in the "League Forums" in the "Games Engine Focus Discussion", there is a solid conversation developing about the need to maintain the option of players switching positions because of the ongoing paucity of adequate new players available at the various positions in the draft.
The comments by warrior462 are important to consider for future planning for this great league.

It was noted previously that once we are using a fully operational New UI, that we can move a DT or DE to the LB position but cannot move a LB to the DT or DE position (see below from a previous post).
DT <> DE > LB LB > S > CB SS <> FS > CB CB
Our only Ai managed team, the Detroit Lions, just selected a WLB, David Lee, at pick 2.26 of the current draft. On the full listing of available positions on David Lee's player card, WLB is the position at which he has the seventh most potential: (1) LDE 29/78, (2) RDE 29/77, (3) MLB 30/75, (4) DT 29/72, (5) SLB 33/69, (6) SS 24/67, and (7) WLB 32/66.
So, my question is as follows... if we were using the New UI right now, would this player be unable to be switched to LDE, RDE, or DT, even though he has greater potential at those positions?

I planned on opening a switching grace period after the draft, but putting position swaps back in place by preseason.
