Send me a PM if you have a custom league that you've created/unlocked in the last 30 days. I'll set you with a customization tier so you can edit it for the next month, since you have already paid for it.

So league admins will no longer have this feature going forward?

In order to create and maintain a league, it will require the customization tier. The created league will remain if the league owner drops to a lower tier, but all customizations, including league customizations, will now fall under the customization subscription.

I have the customization on my subscription but still no ability to customize the USFL.

My current subscription is checked, but I still can't edit my league in any way.

Ok, let me check to see why it's not working.

This should be fixed. Sorry about that! Let me know if anyone else runs into access issues, and thanks for your patience while we work out the bugs.

Yo, big fan, but economically and from a marketing standpoint these changes don't seem to make much sense.

You went for pretty crazy prices compared to what I would have expected for a casual football game people spend a couple minutes per day on. Your ad income per player has to be tiny, so even if you make a $2 or even $1 per month tier to remove ads you would earn way more money and keep it way more accessible to way more people. (How much money did you earn from ads last month and how many people still play the game?)

Joining leagues should always be free because it's the only thing keeping the game alive. Unless you want to decrease the amount of players to decrease server cost I don't get why you would cap the amount of time people can spend on this site (It's even bad for ad revenue because now people are only opening new tabs with ads for 1 league instead of the 4 or 5 leagues they are in).

Full customization features you can of course ask more money for but it should really be only like $10 per month max. After that people start comparing it to other entertainment expenses this game can't compete with like streaming services or other games.

I also think that giving the option to pay for a whole year instead of only a monthly option is bad because:
1. People see a way larger number and could realize it's too expensive.
2. Nothing in the past years has guaranteed that the game will get any better or even still exist in a year time, so people paying $150 up front are taking a huge gamble.

I really love the game and thanks for making it, but please god next time at least discuss these kind of things with owners of the leagues so you can better know the sentiment, adjust things and prevent haphazard changing of things like the sudden addition of ad free tiers.

If you respond to this please respond to everything and don't avoid any of the things I said.

Adding the ad-free single league tier was a good shout, but it has rather nerfed the max tier for those of us administrating a single league.

I'm okay with this, you're evidently shooting from the hip a little, and I know you'll make-good at some point.

It might have been worthwhile launching this alongside some good news or some kind of roadmap for the next 6-12 months so we could find out what we were supporting. Nobody expects you to run this at a loss, and I'm fine with supporting at max level, but it just feels a little bit ready-FIRE-aim.

I echo those thoughts. People want value for money, and to see that what they pay for gives them something worth value. At the moment, the customisation provided is not value for the prices you’ve made these tiers. Had there been some new feature provided, or new customisation tools for players and league owners, then yeah, maybe it would be worth it, but you are essentially forcing league owners to pay up for the right to run their league, and even then there is not much from what I’ve been told or heard that they can customise beyond the basic. Why not provide them with the ability to set their own league rules, or even move teams around to different divisions, or even set up particular “rivalries” so that a particular matchup happens each year. I know that our league would probably love something like that each season as we have a few team owners who have quite a decent rivalry and I think would love to face each other every season, despite being in different divisions or conferences. Even something as simple as forcing the AI schedule creator to avoid scheduling the same matchup in preseason and the regular season. Simple things like that, giving league owners more control and customisation would be value for money.

For regular owners, more than just name changes would present value for money. Just a few thoughts, like maybe giving more control like letting them “train” a player for a new position that they currently don’t have on their position list, the ability to write a proper backstory for them and let that follow them along in their career, the ability to bring back retired players for a season or even bring them in as a coach. Coaches could also be a customisation tool for subscription tiers, things like renaming them (maybe only until they coach their first regular season game with a team), or the ability to move coaches around on your team mid season without having to fire them and then try to rehire them. Even the ability to “lock” a coach to the team for their contract as to stop poaching coaches during the off-season (really think that should be a generic thing for everyone). Things like that, they are value for money and an incentive to want to pay a subscription, even month by month.

Also, while I can appreciate that some changes have been made as a reaction to what has been said in the thread so far, it now has gone from incentive to pay to value for money. Spending $30 a year just to play with no ads doesn’t present value for money. Something like that should be no more than $10 a year. For $30 a year I’d be expecting something a bit more.
