J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!

Ha ha had to be done.

Draft picks.

1.27 - RB Curtis Martin.

Martin had the option to redshirt and play one more season at Pittsburgh or enter the NFL Draft. He chose to enter the draft stating "in the end it was the best thing to do"
Martin is highly touted for his speed—he ran a 4.4 in the 40 yard dash—and his slashing running style

2.6 - DE Mark Gastineau

. He became ECU's first-ever draft pick when the New York Jets selected him in the second round.
Big things are expected from Marc who has a relentless engine and knack for getting to the QB despite double teams.
At Height: 6-5 Weight: 266lbs he's going to be a nightmare to contain at the next level.

3.27 - WR Al Toon

At Height: 6-4 Weight: 200 and with blazing speed for an athlete for his size, Toon is going to be every DBs nightmare. A great route runner and fearless going over the middle or going deep.
The Jets got great value here and will have a day 1 starter.

4.6 - WR Wesley Walker

Height 6-0, weight 179lb An All-American out the University of California, Walker has set records wherever he has played. A team leader and consummate professional, he exudes confidence in his unquestionable skills and like Toon is fearless going over the middle or deep. He also excels in run blocking and will knock LBs on their backisdes.

5.27 - LB Lance Mehl

Height: 6-3 Weight: 235 Mehl was the leading tackler for the unbeaten Nittany Lion team. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts Education from Penn State University in 1980.
A super smart athlete with a nose for the ball, expect this tough tackling machine to get his fair share of turnovers too.

6.6 - SS Victor Green

Height 5-11, Weight 210lb A zone and Man specialist, the versatile Green will line up all over the field giving support to fellow team mates. A sure tackler with a nose for the ball.

9.27 - CB Bobby Jackson

Height: 5-9 Weight: 178 The . speedster from Albany, GA took little time in dismantling all competition for the defensive back spot at Florida State
Jackson's speed and quickness blended dangerously with an appetite for aggressive hitting. His excellent hands and an outstanding knack for coverage receivers one-on-one made Jackson an immovable object in the defensive secondary.

10.6 DE Shaun Ellis (Big Cat)

Height: 6-5 Weight: 290 A three-year letterwinner at Rocky Top, Ellis' collegiate career culminated in All-SEC First Team honors in 1999. Ellis accumulated 105 total tackles, including 22 for a loss and 12.5 sacks. He also forced three fumbles and intercepted one pass, returning it 90 yards for a touchdown, the fifth-longest INT return in school history.

11.27 DT Abdul Salaam

Height: 6-3 Weight: 262 Salaam played baseball and basketball as well as football at Woodward High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He majored in business at Kent State University, while also playing both nose guard and Linebacker with Kent State's "Carat Gold" defense. He earned first team All-Mid-American Conference three straight seasons.

12.6 - C Nick Mangold

Height: 6-4 Weight: 307 Mangold attended Ohio State University, and was a three-year starter at center for the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. He was rated on a par with former Buckeye All-American and 2001 Rimington Trophy winner LeCharles Bentley by offensive line coach Jim Bollman.
He earned All-Big Ten Conference Honorable Mention [5] honors in 2004, when the coaching staff named Mangold Offensive Lineman of the Week seven times and Offensive Player of the Week vs. Northwestern. Mangold was again chosen second-team All-Big Ten in 2005. He closed his career with 33 starts in 45 games

Jets????
You don't want to go there with me...lol

Any who, going to a couple Dolphins' practices next week and have opening game tix against the Bucs. It's THAT time of year again, Mate. Looking forward to the season!
I'd ask you how the Jets are going to do this season...but I won't. ;(

You're a phins fan? I don't know why but always thought of you as a Bears fan o_0
All the talk is that the Jets are going to 'tank the season, if this is the case, it could very well spell the end of me being a fan.
Woody Johnson is an absolute tool and knows nothing about football, now he's an ambassador.? He needs to either sell up and get a back room staff that REALLY know football .
I've been a Jets fan since 1984 and in that time have had very little to cheer about. But then many teams still have not won a SB

I'll admit that as a diehard Bills fan, I think its a catch 22 situation for me when thinking about the Jets. I think its going to be great beating up on them this year, but its going to **** if they actually do tank. Cause if they do, it could mean them finally getting a franchise QB. With Brady nearing the end of his career, it would really **** for me if the Jets get their "Brady" before the Bills.

Fins fan for around 43 years or about that long. Growing up in NJ, 10 minutes from East Rutherford, all of my Family are either Giants/Jets fans. Been to many Fins/Jets games at the old Giant Stadium in the 80's- early 90's.
You must have forgotten our conversations back in the GLB days...lol

****, my memory is shot to pieces. I watched that film 'Concussion' with Will Smith and if I'm honest am a wee bit concerned. Only played amateur football, but the hits were just as vicious.
Played FS and SS and loved the hit.

So remind me, how did you end up a Phins fan with all that family pedigree?

Jets games were the only thing on tv back then. Watched a game when I was about 7 against the Dolphins, saw Larry Csonka play and wanted to be like him, lol. Been a fan ever since..That's when the Jets played at Shea Stadium, Giants Stadium wasn't built yet.
When the Giants moved to N.J., my cousins started liking them and took me to alot of those games, they've been trying to make me a Giants fan since then. With the Jets, my Mom's company she worked for had Jets season tickets since they came to N.J. She always made sure to put the Dolphins Tix on the side for her Son. :)
Those same season tickets are now in the hands of my Sister, who's whole family are jets fans now.
I'm the ONLY Dolphins fan on my family tree...lmao

Your Mom sounds like one **** of a lady, that's such a lovely thing to do :) I have to say your sister is the only one with good taste in your family though .

Haha, yeah every time I see my cousins they have something to say about it.
I always remind my sister that those were MY seats before they had them, lol. Been a Dolphins fan before any of them became Jets fans.
I enjoy family functions when jets/giants fans go at it and I stand back and laugh.

Funny how I live in Florida now and Buccaneer fans tell me I need to route for that team because I "live in the area"... They're ****** crazy, I tell ya'!
