RULES

- Punt Blocks: Can take place but not as an exploit, eg; a player out of position. Punt blocks can only be done by LBs or DL and that MUST be their primary position, so no changing their position back and forth.
Just to clarify a point: Pressure on the punter with an out of position (OoP) player is fine, but if they go onto block the punt from OoP place you will have to deal with the consequences. So if you are going to do it, make sure that player does NOT interfere with the punt. No excuses.

- Out of Position Players: Players from Offense must only play on Offense, as should Defense players should only play on Defense.

This is up to YOU the owners in this league to police this, I cannot view every game, so either respond to this thread or PM me if you suspect its being used and give me linked examples.

If anyone is caught doing this, they will get a fair warning and they will need to adjust their depth chart/overrides accordingly. Failure to do so will result in that person losing their team.
In my opinion its unsportsmanlike.

It might be easier on everyone if all the leagues banning punts have similar guidelines. In USFL I'm using Cjfred's model, no fast skinny guys on the front 4 but having them on the wings is OK.

Yeah exactly, at the end of the day this is just an online game... a game and as such should be played with sportsmanship. That fool that wouldn't change up, well... best of luck finding a decent league that is ok with it.
I'm even ok with playing a skinny guy (lol) OoP so long as all he does is put pressure on the punter, which can lead to a bad punt.
I think for the best part most players here are in agreement or just don't have a preference, but everyone wants to see a level playing field.

Sounds fine to me. For the record, I just use the "Auto Set Depth Chart" for my Special Teams (and then change the returners, holder, and snapper, if needed). The ST Rush and ST Blockers are decided by AI. Might explain why I've never actually blocked a punt, but that's okay.

Now, I need to figure out how to tell my returner not to run directly into the only defender within 20 yards and not to call for a fair catch when you have two blockers in front of you (even if the opponent is nearby). But, hey, I'm not complaining -- its always been a quirk and I'm not sure adding a bunch of PR TDs would make the game better.

If you let the AI set your ST Rushers, it is possible that the AI will put one of your DB's on the line.

Well, dang. I just checked the lineup and you're right, there was a CB in the front 4. Still have never blocked a punt in something like 50 seasons of MFN in various leagues. I might be showing my ignorance here, but I don't have any overrides set. I will try to fix it.

You're not alone, this has happened to someone else in the league as well.

This was how the exploit was discovered. AI placed a speedy DB on the front 4 & he wreaked havoc on punters.

Best way to fix this is to manually remove the player from ST Rusher.

An awful lot of punts that are getting close to being blocked, which is fine. But if that player is OoP, be prepared...... or just don't do it.
