The New York Giants secured a decisive 43-5 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on December 22nd at Lincoln Financial Field, improving their record to 14-2 and extending their winning streak to 11 games under head coach Nigel Larson. The win clinches the Giants' division title, solidifying their position atop the division standings with a perfect 6-0 division record.
Giants quarterback Jeffery Lee was instrumental in the win, completing 25 of 37 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns. Lee connected early with tight end Jose Dodds for a 15-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to give the Giants a 6-0 lead. Fullback Kenneth Fuentes added a two-yard rushing touchdown early in the second quarter, extending the Giants' advantage to 14-0.
The Giants offense continued to exert pressure in the second half, highlighted by Lee's 22-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Michael Pedigo in the third quarter, increasing the lead to 21-0. Despite a safety allowed after Lee was sacked, the Giants' defense limited the Eagles to just a field goal late in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Giants scored three more touchdowns. Pedigo caught another TD pass for 15 yards shortly after the quarter began, followed by a 36-yard touchdown run by Charles Mannion. Giants wide receiver Giovanni Kennedy capped the scoring with a one-yard rushing touchdown. A successful two-point conversion pass from Lee to Robert Cox finalized the scoring at 43 points.
Giovanni Kennedy was a dual-threat enforcer with 161 rushing yards and one touchdown, in addition to five receiving yards. Dodds led the Giants' receiving corps with 162 yards and one touchdown. Michael Pedigo contributed 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns. On defense, the Giants racked up two sacks, forced three fumbles including one recovered by Andrew Larsen, and intercepted one pass.
The Eagles struggled offensively throughout the game. Quarterback Ronald Ruffner completed 24 of 42 passes for 176 yards but was intercepted once and failed to produce any touchdowns. Their rushing attack was limited to 31 yards on 13 carries without a score. The Eagles managed only one field goal and were held scoreless in the red zone despite multiple opportunities. Their red zone struggles and seven-game losing streak continue as they fall to 4-12 for the season.
The Giants converted nine of 14 third-down opportunities and scored touchdowns on all four red zone visits, demonstrating efficiency that contributed to their commanding win. The Eagles converted just three of 15 third downs and had 5 yards on penalties compared to 15 yards on two penalties for the Giants.
This lopsided victory highlights the Giants’ well-rounded team performance on both sides of the ball and positions them strongly as the regular season winds down. The Eagles remain mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, trailing in their division with an 0-6 division record.
Next week, the Giants will look to maintain momentum heading into the postseason, while the Eagles will close out a difficult season with hopes of regrouping during the offseason.
