I appreciate the advice. I'm just frustrating because in most situations a team has a core to build around....it might only he 3 to 4 players but a core nontheless.
This was my team which I gave up after winning a title then defending that title the following season. I left it full of talent and capable of winning for seasons to come.
Then some idiot took this team and destroyed them by signing 40 horrible contracts which put the time -100 million under the cap....all in the span of a real life week.
I took the team back over after the A.I. cut the entire roster leaving me with 46 bums under 1 year contracts....no core....nothing to build around.
I'm in the 2nd year of this rebuild and instead of losing the 1st season like I should have with a roster of bums...I went 8-8 simply based off gameplanning. I've had an offseason and now the team is better and I will probably win 10 or 11 games based off gameplanning.
The problem is that gameplanning can only take you so far in this sim. You need playmakers on offense and defense to win it all against the good teams and they dont typically fall to free agency and drafting at the middle or bottom of the draft makes finding true elite talent spotty at best.
This league is unique because it has a super team in Tampa Bay that wins based off it's incredible roster. The roster will continue to improve and grow because the owner has amassed so many picks....he keeps replenishing his talent.
I can gameplan with the best of them but I cant overcome the level of elite talent on his team without several high level playmakers on both sides of the ball. It was in my best interest to tank last season...grab a top pick and do it again this season but I just cant.
It's also frustrating because I had accomplished what I wanted in this league and left because I admin 5 leagues and wanted to cut back on teams....now I'm back because some idiot ruined my old team.
This is the only league I'm in where I have zero chance of competing for a league title every season and that's frustrating too. Instead of accelerating the rebuild by tanking like I should....I cant lose on purpose.....hence I'm stuck in the middle
