Hi fellas, 4.4 is a dramatic change, as those of you who have checked it out or are already playing in it will attest. The Rivals league is 3 games into it and there has been quite a bit of posting about it, including a lot of detail and analysis/results by setherick, who is league admin.
In general, all I can tell you from the several games that Ive been in so far.... 1. Dial long pass plays way, way down, and if you do throw long do it out of formations where you get the FB blocking and make sure your FB is a good pass blocker.
2. There are med pass plays that are putting up better results than others, most of the better med pass plays are out of the 2-1-2, 2rb3wr, and 2 TE formations.
3. Short passing is still good, and like med pass, there are a few that have been better than others so far.
4. Run game is hard to tell whether or not its better, but most are running more in 4.4.
5. Defense is improved, scores have been much lower than 4.3. Pass coverage has improved.
That is my "early read", am going to be trying a few things over the next few games, if anything stands out, will post it. cheers!
PS... Would advise you review what Seth's Dallas team is using for offense play selection, and defense with attn to Normal, Nickel, Dime, Qts, GL vs offense formation and situation (down/yds to go). We dont agree on everything, but we're not far apart. And from the first pre-season game results, looks like the Brownies continue to roll in 4.4 :)
