A game where nothing happened, and where I was winning before a big boost from the opponent offense to get the win a the last seconds, I thought I was watching a madden match, I swear that EA just bought MFN !? lol
Well, this one is disappointed because I thought that despite that horrible 4.6 show (as usual), my team was in better position to win but they fucked many opportunities, missed field goal, passing game that I still can improve but I don't know how, the engine doesn't give me the motivation to do it anyway, and I was more often in a better field position but my offense was not able to enjoy it.
I have tried to make a gameplan during the last preseason for 4.6 and it was better than the last season that I was still playing with my 4.5 gameplans, I don't like it but it worked better, it's only the second season I play in 4.6 and the first one I really watched most of my games and I saw all the defects of the engine...
I don't know if peoples agree with this, but first one of the biggest problem is the press coverage that is too much effective, it's like the DBs are completly making holding or blocking the route runners so nobody is open.
Then I think that finally it was a mistake to limit the speed impact, as finally it's a part of the game for real, OBJ would not be OBJ without his speed per example... But it's also ridiculous when 2 players with different speed rating are running at the same speed or the one slower in ratings is faster on the field... Speed is a weapon and there is some ways to help a defense to cover fast WRs with slower DBs, like using zone, or add a reaction rating to players like in madden, awareness or make a mix with the intelligence rating to improve the reactions of the players...
There is still some improvements to do with the penalties, how many holding by players far from the ball carrier or false starts by WRs, it happens for real but not that often.
The QBs fumble during the snap also happen very often, and in the same time it never happens in shotgun which is weird when we think about it lol... But it's older than the 4.6 ...
Then obviously the running game is a bit too much overpowered and the passing game we all know how it is...
Finally I feel like the only solution that has been brought to limit the "slant glitch" that was still possible to limit in 4.5, was to overpower the press coverage in 4.6, what completly destroyed the other routes, and when the DB fails to press cover because sometimes it still happens, the slant is still giving big plays. So the slant glitch has not really been patched, but countered by the excess of press coverage instead.
I think that a solution would be to reduce the slant route angle first. Then the WRs are always starting the slant by running vertical 5 yards and then only they turn, 5 yards is too much, a danger with the slant is that LBs can be waiting to tackle but in MFN the slant leads the WRs directly to the safeties... To me this is the problem with the slant and modify the route could have been a good way to delete the "slant glitch", still allow the opportunity of big play for the offense while reducing it and create the opportunity of big play for the defense with a LB ready to "kill" the WR after the catch and create fumble situations...
I'm maybe late in the discussion about the 4.6 but it's the first season I really watched so I come late lol...
