Draft Analysis & Rating .... Top 5 picks.......

Hey guys... I am doing this for fun... this is strictly my view ... NO DISRESPECT to anyone's pick or team........please feel to provide your view agree/disagree

1-1 Chiefs ->> Chiefs traded to move up to grab J.Phleps, FS - he is without argument the best pick in draft.... he has speed..strength....coverage skills.... run stopping skills.... word out of Big 10 is that he is great kid with good work ethics but need to focus and find a right coach to excel... but he is one of the rare talent who can anchor the entire defense on his shoulder, he is pro ready just need mentor to bring out that elite talent..... Grade - A (I would have gone with A+ but there is some risk with him to find the right mentor/coach to lean on to develop)

1-2 49ers ->> S.Little is complete LB with speed, ability to tackle...stop run and drop in coverage....he is great talent to be Top 5 pick.... he has been pro ready playing in SEC and word on him is that he is ready to lead the NFL Defense.... Grade - A

1-3 49ers ->> R.Ness is best QB in the draft... with the intelligence combined with accuracy, arm and FOV this guy can be special..... word out of Big 10 is that he is gifted but need to focus ...as he is temperamental so will need the team to invest in good QB coach to show him the ropes to NFL.....if possible should make him #2 in rookie season to give him chance to grow into position..... Grade - A (he is bit volatile but I have hunch he will boom and be good pick)

1-4 Patriots ->> E.Hall, OT from Penn state... making it back to back Penn picks... he was the leader on the line that made R.Ness shine.... he is true leader and can anchor the line for next decade....he is also temperamental and will need good coach/mentor to show him the rope but he is NFL ready and with right camp can be inserted to anchor the line from day one... Grade A

1-5 Bills ->> after trading down from top spot to add couple of early 2nd rounds..Bills pick M.Kennedy out of Maryland....he is good talent with combination of speed, strength and balance of pass rush/run stuffer.... he will be better LDE than RDE.... he is safe pick to round out Top 5.... Grade A

Let's hear your views.....

Top 5 picks were as predicted but fun starts now as there is no more clear cut star or safe picks so there will be lots of pick based on Need, potential or best player on board.

1-6 Jax - Typical JAX style need based pick... He is good QB with good potential to be starter in the league .... only question on him is his accuracy that is hanging around 79-80 if he can improve that he can make a big leap... he has starting potential but will need 1-2 years to develop.... Grade B+ as he is not the next best talent on board but this is need based pick from JAX. Overall he can be A

1-7 Titans - C.Greenwalt, TE - Titans picks the best TE in the draft.... its good combination of good talent on the board coupled with need based pick.... He is has been monster at NotreDame and he will be same in NFL with right system and QB pairing up with him. Grade - A

1-8 Chargers - Henry Olivio, OT .... he is non flashy but solid OL... mainly LG who will create lots of lanes for the RB.... Chargers are investing a lot to build their offense.... He is NFL ready so overall grade - A

1-9 Bears - E.Gooch, DE/OLB - this is interesting pick as he is speed demon who if developed and used in right Defense can be tough defender.... still I think he was picked few spot earlier but over all good pick but not flashy .... this is more of player fitting the team more than talent alone... overall grade B+

1-10 Bears - G.Hubbard, CB from Alabama...... there was rumors that Bucs who had the pick was looking to move out... and Bears waited till last min to get great value.... Bears picked great NFL ready Safety who is speed monster, overall great pick who will certainly grow positive and will be great Safety for Bear for decade .... overall grade A+ (Bear never thought they had chance to pick him and upgrade the defensive backs... but being there right time made all the difference)

1-11 Falcons - G.McGregor, RB SD State..... Falcons went for speed RB from small school who has been ultra productive... He is complete back and if Falcons can create lanes for him he can be home run threat only question is will he able to take the beating and grind it out as every down back in NFL... Overall grade - B+

1-12 Lions - T.Ball, WR.... great safe pick... good #1/#2 WR with decent speed...hand combination... he is from small school but tall and good WR who can create coverage problem... overall. grade A

1-13 Ram - A.Rhoden, DT.... this is from the left field... but Rams are known to pick players that fit their system v/s just picking best player on board.... He is decent DL from small school who with right system and fitment can be develop into good starting DL... can play LDE /DT but still feel it was bit of reach as there was good talent on board. Overall Grade B

1-14 Steelers - E.Tannebaum, WR .... great possession WR ... he has good size and hands...just tad bit slow but plays fast on the field... he has found right team who will develop him and let him grow over next 1-2 years to be starter ... He do tends to get defocused once in while so that is something that needs to be kept in mind... overall grade - A-

1-15 Panthers - S.Hopper, DL from S.Cal... He has good burst and have good strength .... only knack on him is that will he able to keep the speed or run out of gas post initial burst. Overall good pick from NFL ready program. Overall grade B+

2600 OL are inflated. I never understood why the trade meter favours OL so much. Seems like an exciting first round!! Great analysis HKP!!

1-16 Cowboys --> G,.Tyler, OT from Colorado..... Dallas picks run mauler who will open up lanes for running game... he is bit shaky on pass protection but overall great RG to anchor the line. He is good hard working kid who will be Cowboys for long........Overall grade B+

1-17 Dolphins --> R. Hauser, RB/FB Washington..... He is great football player .... great built and grinder but more of Thunder,..... short yardage, tough RB .... not the home run threat.... bit of reach at this point in draft.... Overall grade B

1-18 Colts --> M.Raunch, OC Fresno State.... great kid with good overall skills to be starting C for longtime... he is not spectacular but great hardworking starter..... overall grade A-

1-19 Vikings -> G.Shaw, DE/LB from UCLA..... he is speed guy.... more of freak athlete than player......will need right team and time to develop..... but bit of reach at this point in draft ... overall grade B

1-20 Eagles --> H.Wells, OC from Kansas..... he is football player ...period....he is not spectacular
but he is hard working starter who will anchor the line for years to come... will need time to develop as starter but overall good talent. Overall Grade - A

1-21 M.Cummings, LB from Arkansas..... he is celebrated college star....with decent speed...pass rush/run stop along with tackle and coverage.... He has tendency to be lazy so will need good camp to establish himself as starter in 1-2 years.... over all grade - B+

1-22 M.Jordan, S from USC..... if only name guarantees the performance on the field this would be A+++ pick but unfortunately it does not work that way... M.Jordan is good high motor football player but bit of twiner as SS/LB....he has decent speed but he is sure tackler and will punish the WR/TE every time they catch the ball.......Bucs passed on D.White(speedy monster) and V.Prosser, FS to pick Jordan ...so he will always have tag of reach..... overall grade B

1-23 Zona made trade with Browns to pick D.White, CB from UCLA... he is speed monster and can match any WR on open field.... he has good coverage skills..... he lacks height but his college coach feels he plays tall, just need to keep game in head. If he gets tough but good coach he can be starting CB else will be speed special teamer... Overall grade A-

1-24 Zona makes 2nd trade in row to pick A.Willis, LG from small school Toledo.... he is big, tall and tough OL who just over power DL's.... he has been over achiever and poised to continue that streak in NFL..... overall grade A

1-25 Jets --> pick R.Gibson, OC ... he is combination of finesse with power.... great Center to anchor the line for 8-10 years.... overall grade = A

1-26 Seahawks --> J.Alvarez, RT....he has all the tools to be great OL but he needs to improve the pass protection but overall good pick grade - A-

1-27 Viking --> S.Kincheloe from Alabama..... he is high motor guy with good speed and decent coverage skills... he is pro ready playing at Alabama..... just need to focus on camp to develop as starter. overall grade B+

1-28 JAX --> J.Lane, CB from NotreDame.... He is good cover safety with great instinct.... since he is tad slower he is better to be moved inside as safety but solid football player who will bring his A game to field.. overall grade B+

1-29 Raiders --> R.Williams, DT from NC State.... he is compete DL ... speed..size...strength..pass rush and run stop.... only concern on him is that he is from small school and never player again high competition so will his game translate to NFL ..... he may need a good camp and 1-2 year but if he booms he will make all 28 teams regret passing on him..... he will be hit or miss pick... Overall I will go with B+ with his high volatile but he is A+ talent

1-30 Gaints --> V.Prosser, SS/LB from Pittsburgh.... this pick shows why Giants are always in hunt for trophy.... he has decent size ....speed.. tackle... cover and run stop capability ... he can play either SS/LB... he is NFL ready and good talent. Overall grade A-

1-31 Texans --> A.Smith, LB from Moorehead St.... its actually decent pick ... he is bit slow but good coverage and run stopping skills ...moving him to SS will help him develop.... overall grade B

1-32 JAX - B.Fiizerald, RB from AZ state .... he has decent combination of speed...acceleration...running and catching..... a good complete back... overall grade B+

oh forgot to mention some big trades..... :)
