Late Free Agency 1 question(re:Arz/Dal)

What do we do if we sign a player they want? Easy solution is to trade them, but what about the cap hit a team takes doing them a solid?

I just got home from work and late FA runs in 40 minutes. I read the posts about letting Arizona and Dallas have 1st FA choice and I'm fine with that. I also saw a suggestion of the other 30 owners abstaining from round 1. What I haven't seen is any official league wide ruling, or any post informing me/others whom to not bid on.

At this late hour I'm not rescinding my offers but if they wanted 1 of the players I sign, I'd be willing to trade them for next to nothing. Any cap hit I would take would be negligible as none of my offers are for all that much over minimum.

I would have assumed that Zona and Dallas would have posted their needs, but nothing has been forthcoming.
The chargers got a WR from Dallas and a won from Zona, so I'm really it sure how we move forward from this.
Also the Bucs got a LDE over the Cards...

As this was agreed in principle in the community it would be nice if this could be resolved .

Should I extend FA another day ?

Oh, that was meant as 1st choice on ALL free agents? Like I said before I just got home from work and maybe read it wrong but I took it to mean those 2 teams got to choose 1 player each from the FA pool that the rest of us would stay away from.

My bad, yeah that is what was discussed. Nevertheless, both Dallas and Arizona lost out on FAs

I thought they were to post the players they wanted and we would not bid. I didn't see any players posted but I'd be more than happy to trade them any i picked up.

I thought we agreed they can name one player and we will not bid... once I did not saw any name I had to make my FA moves but said that if Arizona want the player I will trade with him for nothing ..... or will drop so he can have waiver wire pick up (I am ok to take cap hit to do the right thing)

I lost FA - Andrew Johnson to Arizona .... but as I said I am ok if he want the LDE he never put the name in thread so I picked but if we want I am ok to do the right thing.

I took a bunch of players...I was OK if anyone bid on them. It seems there were only a few people who were "up" for my suggestion.

There may have been more people up for the idea than we know. I, for one, didn't post anything about it but I had no problem if that's what we did.

The difficulty seems to be the short notice we had along with hoping everyone fell in line. Short of postponing free agency or the ability to block moves, I really don't know what could have been done.

Say 10 to 12 people abstained from FA to allow Arizona and Dallas players but the other 15-20 teams sign away? Then you have more than just 2 teams harmed as the do-gooders will see any potential players they wanted on other rosters.

Idk if it's possible in MFN or if we'd even want it but in my fantasy baseball leagues the commissioner can block teams from acquiring players with the click of a mouse. The block can be removed just as easily and would have been a good solution imo.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but maybe this could be implemented so future leagues don't have this happen to them.
