By the end of last season, the Bears were a bottom 1/3 team. We looked hard at ourselves and realized there were just too many suspect players littering the roster. In a bold offseason, the Bears released 22 players (only 5 have found their way to a new team.)
If you are looking for high-profile acquisitions - there are none. This was an offseason to build depth, add serviceable back-ups, and reset a shaky salary cap for the future.
There's still a lot of holes on this team - but the bottom isn't as low as it was a short time ago. We're still hopeful to find a couple diamonds in the rough on the final day of the draft.
