A couple of things I will add to this thread, and as mentioned in a previous post in this thread, we recently went through the same situation in the Elite league. Not everyone in any league reads the forum posts or takes time to post, some dont even read their PM's. It was very difficult to get the situation corrected in the Elite, but we managed to do it. I wont do it again, as each new owner along with the existing owners has been notified about what happens when you exceed the salary cap... the AI kicks in and cuts the player who has the highest "amount saved if released", same deal if you have over 53 players on the roster during the reg season, the AI will cut the highest rated player (which I dont agree with, but thats the case). It is important to make everyone aware of these potentially damaging situations, because its very difficult to correct and unfair to all those who do pay attention to their rosters and salary caps, read & post in the forum, and are aware of what is going on outside of gameplanning and managing the roster. The best way to deal with it, is to use preventative measures. Put a sticky post about the subject or in the league rules, (you can copy/paste & edit the one I use for the Elite, AFL, & DFL), send a PM to new owners reminding them about the salary cap problem, which is the case with any team that has been managed at the end of season by the AI. In most cases, the salary cap is less than $1 mill when the AI has managed the team for too long, thanks to the neg wiz. Make sure a new owner is aware that he/she can lose good players if they do not account for the salary cap. It is real easy to do a trade and forget about making room for the difference in the salary cap. Sometimes, an owner doesnt know they got the trade, lol, and by the time they do, that same player they gave up high picks for may have been cut. we dont want to lose owners due to frustration and unhappiness with the game if it can be avoided. By posting a specific thread and sending a PM to the owner about being aware of what happens if they exceed their sal cap, there can be no complaints about "I didnt know", or "I forgot about it", and others..... as L admin you did all you could to prevent it from happening, it's part of the game and hurts if someone makes that mistake. same as not paying attention in any other game. cheers! gdb
