Reading this back, when you say starters, does this refer to people's depth charts and how to overrides factor into that?

For example, could have DEs in L/RDE depth charts, using overrides play LBs... presumably new UI would prevent that.

Yes the same code the controls position switching controls depth chart and override position.

Not too get too deep in the weeds on tangential details but one of the others leagues where I have a team is going to include Punters as eligible to be Kick Holders (instead of just QB's being the only position group that can serve as Kick Holder). This makes sense as this still occurs in real football.

I very much like this amendment towards positional changes! BUT, and this is my idea (most likely will be up for debate), every season the amendment towards positional changes should be in effect from regular season, midweek one till the end of season.
And from the start of free agency (1) till the last game of preseason I believe during this so-called grace. Every team owner can do whatever they wish to their roster in terms of position changes (that would mean the rule towards position changes will not be in effect during this grace period).

I like this amendment, but I'm likely to forget to change it without constant reminders.

The other problem is that this allows for the CB > DE move.

Agree 100% with the innovative idea By Offensive Taco as to the issue of an early season open window for position changes. Doing so would allow for a weight increase from FB to TE to help alleviate the shortage of viable players at this key position. Limits can still be set in our rules to disallow specific unrealistic position changes like CB to DE.

I may allow FB and TE to be used interchangeably. I haven't found much of a functional difference between 243# and 257# against LBs.

As for special teams, until JDB fixes the depth chart issue with them, I'll likely just allow any position to play gunner, blocker, or rusher.

We've seen a team win a championship by spamming TE throws to a converted WR who landed around 240 ...

Also, might as well greenlight FBs playing TE since Denver is flagrantly breaking this rule with an 81 speed FB at TE1 (and no TEs on the roster).

Well if Denver want to do that, can't then complain when people exploit the engine against them.

TO clarify; DE below min weight. If it's a convert from LB, then fair enough, but you don't activate them to game day roster whilst underweight
