Your Chargers clinched the AFC West, congratulations. For the first time since this league's opening season of 2000, a team other than the Oakland Raiders wins the West.
In 2000, Kansas City won the division via tiebreaker over Denver, both had 9-7 records. The Raiders tied with the Chargers at 7-9, with the Raiders listed in last place.
In 2001, the Raiders won the division with a record of 14-2, starting a streak of 32 straight division titles and 28 straight double digit win seasons. The double digit streak ended in 2029 when we finished 9-6-1, and I thought Denver was going to win the division that season but we pulled through.
I almost wrote this earlier this season when we were 2-6, but then we started winning again, giving us a chance to continue the streak. It just wasn't meant to continue though, as our inability to beat your Chargers is the reason you'll host a playoff game.
Speaking of playoffs, good luck to you. The Raiders don't have a lot to show for all the regular season success we've had with just 2 league trophies in 10 Super Bowl trips and many more earlier than expected exits. I figured I'd bring this up myself before someone else pointed out my team's choke in the playoffs here.
