In the head scratching move Bucs trade Marvin Arrington their young future QB to Philly ..... here is what Bucs owner & GM hkpman had to say " First of all we acquired Marvin in off season with the view of him being our starter...... but as the trade took some time to make by the time he came to camp with limited time and to our surprise Jeremy Farkas stake the claim on the job with blessing of R.Hansen to mentor him..... we thought of making change but since we run very complicated offense it was not possible to do midseason change without giving up on season....this was coupled with our 3 poor draft by myself which is going to cost us lots of salary cap impact...... which made it impossible for us to sign Marvin to multiyear deal and pay him high dollars .... so we decide to let him go to the team where he may be future starter..... we apologize to him as we never gave him fair chance to win the job or implement himself to the team.... but wish him all the luck for future.....". Its amazing to hear Owner & GM accept their 3-4 busted draft and its impact on the team.... but now that is the fun of this league....

The Eagles played the waiting game and ended up giving up less draft capital than expected. But the 2nd rounder could come back to bite them in the a** if Arrington doesn't pan out. Did the Bucs send off "damaged goods"? Time will tell.

Grade: Good deal for both sides!

Frankly he is not damaged goods... or atleast we dont think of it. We traded lot more out of panic to acquire him late in the preseason... so could not give reins to him... so went with Farkas (released QB from KC)....than when Farkas struggled we threw him in the fry for game... without any prep... but if you look at it his make up and under laying stats(66% completion) there is positive to build....but yes he is not one who will carry team on his shoulder he will need a good team around him to be successful.... you have that team... plus only reason we had to trade him and could not hold him was he is due for resigning and we will not able to afford his salary given our last 3-4 bad drafts which will put stress on our salary cap as we cut players...........so good luck... plus you got him at let's roll the dice price..... so i agree initial grade both deal got value they needed...... Good Luck
