Well here is my detailed explanation of my trade.
Bucs did this trade due to many factors.
Board - We had J.Reid, CB , T.Mangus, WR , J. Bailey, DE & M. Speer, DT all good but with some element of risk. We picked J.Reid and saw all of them picked by the end of 1st.
Salary cap implication of failed 1st round. We have had 3 failed 1st round putting Bucs on it heels to manage the cap so that was back of our mind and did not wanted to have two picks with high salary cap implications.
We traded our 27th pick and 2016 Bucs 1st round ( hoping the we will continue to be playoff team so this pick will not be before 20th atleast) for 2-20 giving us chance to add player this year with little lower salary cap plus 1st round of Patriots ( with the view that even if they improved it will still be mid round 15-20 range pick)
So overall we traded 2 late 1st round for mid 1st round & mid-late 2nd round. I admit i wanted higher 2nd with this but we were against the clock plus we though J.Bailey will last till 2nd but that was wrong speculation on Buc's part. Yes i gave up D.Young who was good find for nothing honestly but that was sweetener to pull the trigger.
I think it was fair trade with little tilted toward Pats as they got young TE D.Young plus 27th pick and they will have Bucs 1st round in 2016. We got 2nd round plus better 1st round in 2016. ( No offense to Pats they may win super bowl in 2016 and will stand with lower pick but that is part of being GM)
Overall Trade Grade by our view....Pats - A in short term Bucs - B in short term but potentially could be A if things pan out as thought.
I am open to learn so feedback or comments are welcome as that makes me better GM....
I am actually going to post my explanation for each trade as i dont think there is any trade which i did just to manage my cap yes i have done most trade tilting toward other team to be fair.
I am open to trade with all .... mostly would have made offers to most of you every season.... :)
