Remember back in 2012 when the doomsday people swore Nostradamus said the world would end? My rookies must have partied like it was the end of the world because they sure were worthless in camp.
The Falcons top brass were nervous before training camp after drafting high volatility players in the first five rounds of the draft but breathed a sigh of relief when the rookies mostly lived up to their potential.
1st round QB +8/0 - a solid camp for the future franchise QB 2nd round CB +12/+8 - bosses delighted with a fantastic camp 3rd round WR +18/+5 - not a speedster but another fantastic camp 4th round RG - +5/-12 - a bust and definitely not what the team were hoping for 5th round LB - +0/-14 - a bust and despite his speed unlikely to stick 6th round C - +6/0 - solid camp and a decent outcome for a 6th rounder 7th round LT - +1/-2 - preseason depth at least
Hitting on the first three picks of the draft is a huge boost for the Falcons but with the all conquering Bucs and the excellent Panthers in their division it will still be a hard season ahead.
Last camp was not great, but this year it's a good one.
The two OLs that had a bad camp were not expected to be in the final roster without a huge surprise, so it only leaves me with one player that had a bad camp.
