Next season matrix

Suggestion for next season.

Right now, in run heavy sets such as goalline, you cannot select O line in the TE positions.

I've addressed that with JDB elsewhere on a different level because there are issues around it.

I'm minded to allow O line to play TE but there's one glaring issue; the matrix now is reciprocal, so that would mean a TE can play O line. As it stands, TE can play C so there's a precedent.

What are people's thoughts? I don't want this abused.

Any other requests are welcome.

Could you add bye weeks, three preseason games and 17 games (Week 18 will be the season finale) as well as changing the Redskins' name to the Commanders?

I rarely use that specific override, but I feel in the Goalline formation it should be allowable as it does mimic NFL in that regard. But ultimately I’m for whatever doesn’t require something to be manually policed, especially by a commish.

Yeah, me too, lack the time.

I've raised the issue with JDB. There are two problems.

1. For convenience, some asked for "reciprical" - so set a WR to play RB, then RB can play WR. This was done for convenience, meaning one way placements / position changes can't thus happen.
In power sets, any OL could play TE, at a push, FB, BUT the way the matrix works now, that would mean TE can play any O line position.

2. Also raised this issue not just on a matrix level but also as you say, doesn't model NFL sets. We'll probably see some work on it, but not now.

1. Bye weeks are in MFN-TEST only to the best of my knowledge, not something a league admin sets. Might be wrong though. When game engine pushed out to the league, guess they'll be present then.

2. 4 games models the NFL pre-season. If a sizeable number want it changed...

3. Can't see an option. League is set to customizable, so Skins owner can do it I guess.

Also, I am minded to allow long plays, however not at this point in time.

Changes have been made in MFN-TEST - not rolled out to other leagues, obviously. They were aimed at zone D (against run), plus general passing tweaks. THe last few weeks stats were put up by JDB.

----------
Short Pass
attempts: 1290
completions: 1014
pct: 0.7860
avg_pass_air_dist: 3.7271
interceptions: 17
int_pct: 0.0132

Medium Pass
attempts: 1135
completions: 655
pct: 0.5771
avg_pass_air_dist: 7.5868
interceptions: 46
int_pct: 0.0405

Long Pass
attempts: 206
completions: 90
pct: 0.4369
avg_pass_air_dist: 12.0874
interceptions: 19
int_pct: 0.0922

=============

SO the stats seem reasonable. Once the game engine rolls out and is present in this league, then I'll unlock long passes in the pre-season.

Reciprocal just seems like a way to go back to abusing the roster. Seems conrproductive to all the changes recently enacted.

Yeah, someone requested it to make it easier for admins - but as I said, it just means a natural thing of having jumbo formation with OL at TE can't be done presently without TEs being also able to be underweight O linemen.

This also has a knock on effect; GL formations, you've got your 5 OL + additional TEs - so can't pack the GL formation with O lineman - have to use FB, TEs.

I've raised this as a serious issue with JDB.

I'm minded if people are happy to allow OL as TE to resolve that issue from next season on, but need to trust people don't abuse it with underweight TE as O linemen.

Can you also make the final week of the season all intradivision games, where every team plays the final game of the regular season against a team in their division

That's not something league admins can control.
