If we had a trade committee I would lobby for a veto of this. Irish is at an age where he's going to lose significant speed before the regular season even starts. There is no circumstance where he is worth a first-round pick.

It could be a first round trade if Tennessee moves him to DE. He won't lose speed from age at the position until year 11.

first round picks are a gamble, and there usually isnt much to choose from after the first several picks. I dont mind trading for veterans instead.

I don't think he can make weight at DE, since he's 206 now. And he has limited pass rush skill.

I could see him having value at CB1 for 3-4 years, but that's hardly worth a first-round pick. If you favor talented vets over high draft picks, I have just the DT for you: https://nfl.myfootballnow.com/player/15489

Oh, I didn't see the weight. Yeah, he could be a CB1 for several years, but likely not a first round pick.

do me a favor, and keep track of all the 16-32 first round picks this year, and then tell me how much more valuable they were than a solid veteran. I seriously doubt that you'll find them better.
