Doing some rudimentary data analysis (winds Seth up when I said that...) and all I can say is 3rd and long needs to be avoided as all costs... absolute coin toss, may as well punt.
Lack of semi-effective long passes really kills that. It's either dink a short pass and hope or run and hope.

I don't even specifically game plan it. I just my game plan to some number of short passes and forget it.
