Looks like the Bills have so much dead cap right now I can't even re-sign the two guys I want to. Just curious if there is any dead cap relief in this league for new GMs? At this rate with my dead cap I won't be competitive for at least another 4 seasons heh. Thanks all! Good luck in the finals and good luck in the draft to the rest of the GMs!

Gustoon used to reset, can't see why things would be any different?
I have no money problem, I'm not a new GM, and I'm not in need to clear my dead cap, but I have a kind of funny situation, I've resigned a player just before the end of season, he signed the contract and retired in the same time... Now it seems that I have a bigger dead cap for this year and already a 22,7M$ dead cap for the next year, for a player that retired and signed the contract in the same day (DT Kyle Dallas).
Is there a rule or something planned to avoid this considering it's a kind of glitch in the game, or this is something that can happen and I got robbed by my player ?
It's not unheard of in real football for players to play the game.
How old was the player, can you remember? I can't speak for others, but if he had a lower chance of retiring, I'd be happier about wiping that cap; if he was 8486 (still younger than Brady) with a 99.99% chance of retiring, then I think you should take the cap for offering such a deal to a player set to retire.

He was 33 with 10% chance of retiring last season, nothing really wrong with the fact he finally retired but signing a contract and retiring during the same sim is... Weird...

Well, not really.
The sim almost certainly runs in stages, ie process contract renewals, then process retirement logic. Your contract offer triggers the former, retirement logic random number generator retires him. Touch and go if cap should be reset, these things happen. At 33, these things happen.
If the issue is the order the sim runs things, I'd agree, any retirement processing should be run BEFORE considering contracts.
Hadn't got a new contract offer in place, but my lead RB, a 30yr just randomly retired this morning.
