Re: 4.6 Passing Issues by the Data

I have actually found 4.6 frustrating as ****......and this is the first version I've ever critiqued.

I always try to have a decent O-Line and even with a decent line your QB will get sacked.......but dayum! Every sim game I watch both QBs are getting hammered all game. I wouldn't be surprised if the programmers needed to give the QBs health buffs. At least the WR2 slant glitch seems to be fixed.

I would like to see someone break down the sacks by protections. There are quite a few deep passes in this game that just have 5 man protections. It's probably realistic to have a ton of sacks if you keep doing that...

Said it before, saying it again, 4.6 is full of untested garbage like this:

Clip: https://bigdata.myfootballnow.com/watch/371#67164
Offensive play: HB Flare (Short)

Everything that goes wrong.

1) The RB reads the blitz, but the blitz is coming from the _backside_ of the play, so the RB runs to the opposite side of the field and completely ignores the DE who has dominated the RT by that point.

2) The reason why the LDE dominates the RT so thoroughly is because the RT gives up on the play. Runs upfield becoming an ineligible receiver and then sits down and pouts because 4.6 is so bad.

3) The WR uses his leverage to get past the CB1 on the sideline. Oh boy, it's going to it's going to be a big one! It's going to be a big one! ... And he drops it of course.

A Young tackle low pass block vs high pass rush DE. Play counts had to matter some at some point too. But the glaring thing is the lack of wr talent........that probably is most to blame. In tandem with qb accuracy. It’s like the QBs knows he can’t throw certain (pass over 12 yards in the air) routes efficiently so he just takes a sack. Plenty of dump off to the backs at a decent rate but the outside receivers put up only one catch on only a few targets . The othe DBs arenot elite either

All good points, but u r missing the main part about how extreme a game like that should be…it simply shouldn’t happen, at all…ever

Forgot a point with this. Chip blocks where the running back abandons the route are not listed in the changes as far as I know.

Jdb admittedly said some of the parameters were large. The best part was most these sacks were on medium passes not long. The same mechanism is sensitive there..... and like I said heavily impacted by qb accuracy and receiver speed. It’s really the best way to moderate passing stats to fit a successful window. It is like would 99 accuracy plus elite modifiers and 95 speed plus elite modifiers could allow certain long passes to work again? Or to some extent?

Perhaps it’s always been there but we don’t see it. If not he put it in when doing the newest blitz pickups . And really blockers always drift with no assignment like that. I think he’s looking for a blitzer cause the 81 speed end ran right by him. At least he didn’t spin around.

There was limited testing for the blitz pickups ( couple of seasons in two leagues)but I am sure he would touch on this if he was interested and had the time. I think those QBs running out of the back of the end zone is worse

It's brand new. The only reason I noticed it so quickly in BD year 1 was from looking at the data and wondering why my RB catches dropped by a lot.

It looks like it's controlled by the RB's pass blocking skill. Because if I sub a low pass block RB to the backfield, they get more catches.
