ads are back

not a bug but... i've purchased $20 in credits twice, and a couple of days ago i may have had a few beers and done some customizing... end result, i took myself down to 4 credits and the ads have come back to make my life miserable.

i wasn't planning on dropping another $20 for a few weeks, (have a team whose season ends... needs drinkin' and customizin'...) so my question is....

do i have to buy the credits now, or do the Gracious and Benevolent people that run this joint have the power to switch them off 'cuz i'm such a good customer and stuff? because really, that video ad that automatically scrolls down to itself and then won't let you leave makes me want to go find the nearest Website Marketing Specialist Person and beat them with a sock full of quarters.

If you use Google Chrome as your browser, go to the chromestore and get AdBlock. Its free and no ads after its installed. No complaints using it on desktop or laptop.

Edit: says it also works with Safari ..

Keep in mind that any site you're using adblock on won't be generating any ad revenue as a result; do with that information what you will.

As for intrusive ads, I agree, those have to go. Luckily jdavid has been responsive in the past about blocking such ads, so if there's one you find particularly bothersome, I would let him know and hopefully it can be blacklisted from showing on the site.

YES - I absolutely am on a mission to block any annoying ads, but the options are either to have ads or require everyone to pay, and I'd rather have more people playing and let people decide whether they want to purchase enough to stay out of ads or not. I am using google's ads because of all the ones I've looked into they are the least intrusive, but they occasionally get an ad that takes over the page. Please IM me if you get an ad that jumps to the bottom of the page so I can block it (if you can screen shot it that would be helpful in my identifying it). I have access to block specific ads and will actually usually block the entire ad account if they put one of these through.

Just an update - I have been in contact with Google and they are aware of these rogue ads and are working to find a solution to it. In the mean time, the only option is for me to block them as they appear. I wasn't able to find the Iam's one last week so Google may have already seen it and blocked it by the time I got into the area to block it myself.

Normally if you get one of these ads you should be able to refresh the page and get a different one that doesn't do that, but I do want to know about them so that I can block them - so please post a screen shot to the forums or you can e-mail a screen shot to support@myfootballnow.com.

I don't know how to do a "screen shot", I've seen them but never knew how to do it. I'm 64, I'm use to Polaroid Shots and real camera's. Not 'screen shots'

If you can identify the URL that the ad is linking to (it should be displayed somewhere in the ad) that should be enough for me to find the ad and block it.
