Defensive Passer Rating

Hey!

I'm new to this game and have been enjoying it a lot so far. One update I think would be nice to see though is a defensive passer rating. Defensive passer rating is just the QB Rating for passes thrown at a specific defender. The passes thrown at, passes completed and interceptions caught are already recorded the only 2 statistics needed after that are yards gained and touchdowns gained on. Then you can use the same QB rating formula ( which I believe this one is using the NFL formula ) and it gives you a lot better idea of how strong said defender is in pass coverage.

The only problem with this is that the stats aren't accurate enough to be useful.

QB throw aways are counted as "thrown at".

Plays that have penalties occur aren't counted in the stats. What I mean by this is let's say a QB throws an INT, then there is a holding call on the INT return. Although the INT counts, it is not recorded in the stats.

Etc, etc.

I'm sure there are more areas where the stats are incorrect.

In my opinion, it is better to have stats that might be very slightly off, rather than have nothing at all. More stats means better evaluation of players, and the ability to get your best players on the field and be sure that you've done so.

I like this, and I agree with the 'more stats = more information', which could go a long way to many people shifting their Weights for more 'Production Qualities'.

I think I'm going to start a thread for 'stat requests' because there are so many good ideas but I don't have a real good way to locate them all.
