I wouldn't f*** with a 50 strength guy under any capacity unless I took over an AI team and now I have to place the player somewhere deep on the bench.

I absolutely will if I'm not running at that guy. A 100 PB RG and RT with <= 50 ST will hold the line just fine.

On sets that run strong, you can swap your OL.

@ Lasse....

Blocking over strength because as Seth was saying if you bounce to the outside you just need the lineman to hold the block to allow the run by.

Glance by and gone.

My 50 comment was moreso about interior runs, you'll get nowhere on 50 strength as your lineman gets pushed back at you.

Thanks for all the comments, it is very helpfull :)

So how do you value the play you actually get on field? Do you look at the tackle allowed stat (is this stat usefull?) or use another method?

Yes and no. Anytime a guy engages and or has his defender make a tackle is when the stat is recorded. So a pass to the wr1 for a 3 yard gain where the LDE makes the tackle will have the RT or RG get credit for allowing a tackle.

Same as well if the wr2 blocks the cb2 but the CB2 makes the tackle 40 yards downfield. Bothe are tackles allowed. But when does it matter to you.

I had garbage DT make 12 tackles for loss in one game. Most in the 4th quarter due to we were losing and they were running up the middle. Play overuse keys and just the fact that one team may always run one way is what really drives stats here.

I look at a teams scouting page and look at what plays they run and put plays in to counter those plays. Not that talent doesn’t matter but oline is so exploited under 4.5.... well unless your opponent knows how to stop it. Then it functions like Seth and smirt said .... as you will see it as the way when you face them.

I largely ignore oline under 4.5 but I don’t win championships either. Well except pass blocking and then size then strength then athletic abilities. It almost the opposite of these guys. But with the use of no rules my best bets(In tougher leagues) is the playoffs anyways

Well, i thought the tackle allowed was a useful stat, seems not! Thanks raymattison21 for clearing that up.

Take out the special team stats and pass completions and you get a more accurate number. Factor in which way you you run and stuff gets tighter but using team stats in unison can give you a clearer picture.

It’s kinda like the dB cover stats. Not that they are useless but yards receded would give you a clearer picture of which dB is a lock down one and which is beat deep more often.

That same league where I did TFL stats I did TFL allowed by linemen and blockers.. Even tackles allowed for one yard gain. It was fun and slightly enlightening but extremely time consuming. Same as if hurries allowed were tallied . It would be great... perhaps one day
