Training speed

How can I increase the training speed of my players?
Playing more matches?
The better the coach ? Assume that is the main way? Or is that all negligible & they train at a pre-determined speed?

Never mind this. I read "training speed" as training the speed attribute and not the ability at which players reach potential. That I'm pretty certain is just some random algorithm controlled by a non-viewable volatility score.

I think I read the original post differently than setherick. I thought by "speed" OP meant the rate at which players improve, not the Max Speed attribute specifically. I'm not sure who's right, but in case I am:

I believe the only factor you can control that affects the rate at which player's improve is playing time. You can't play more games other than if you make the playoffs, but you can make sure the players you want to develop are getting as much playing time in games as possible.

ETA: Currently, coaches do not affect the rate at which players develop, but I believe implementing that is on the roadmap.

I thought volatility referred to what the player's true FUT rating/attribute(s) are. In other words, take two rookies, both showing a 90 FUT, but one has a 1 Volatility and one has a 10 Volatility. So the first player has an actual FUT rating of somewhere between 89 and 91 while the second player has an actual FUT between 80 and 100.

In either case, training doesn't affect that...it only reveals it (over time). This controls how high CUR can get, but the rate at which it gets there (which is what I thought OP was asking about) is dependent on playing time.

But I have been wrong before.

If you had, say, 5 to 10 Plays you wanted to be the 'Core' of your Play Book...

would it make sense to ONLY use those 5 to 10 Plays in Preseason to 'Force' the Knowledge on as many Players as possible?

Sorry for the confusion - the OP was nothing to do with the speed attribute but purely to do with how quickly some of my new recruits will reach ~70 and be good enough for first team selection.
I wasn't sure if it'll happen in its own time or whether I could get him trained up quicker.
So what purpose do the coaches have then if they're not affecting the rate of training?

Coaches do influence the rate at which your players' attributes move from 'current' to 'future.' Volatility is the likelihood of how accurate the 'future' value is. Right now volatility is hidden in all leagues except MFN-1, it will be on part of the player info starting with the next version (that's what the quote of mine above is referring to)
