Another newb question re: game injuries. If I missed the answer in a prior thread, please accept my apology.

I have fatigue setting set @ less than 40, (as suggested) to minimize fatigue that ultimately can lead to injuries. I also had starters pulled after three quarters in game two and after the 2nd quarter in game three.

In games two and three, I lost FOUR LT's to injuries. Two from each game.

Not whining or complaining, but reaching out for help and/or suggestions on what I'm doing wrong? Or what I can do to minimize this attack against my left tackles.

The best way to get your players conditioned for the regular season is to play them similarly to how they are played in the NFL:

Game 1 = one quarter
Game 2 = two quarters
Game 3 = three quarters
Game 4 = one quarter

By game 3 most of your starters will be fully conditioned. You will likely still suffer injuries, but it is much less likely.

Also make sure you have 60 players active and that you have good depth charts, because your starters won't be pulled unless there is enough depth beneath them.

OK, I knew there was a suggested amount of playing time (even if I had is bass ackwards), but what about 4 guys from the same position? In two consecutive games?

Doesn't seem too likely to ever happen in real life, but more importantly (in myfootballnow), how is a person supposed to plan/prepare for such a thing?

Another thing to consider is the type of injury... Injuries happen a lot in the NFL but most players play through them... It depends on the position and injury but I usually play Probable....I might let Questionable players rest a few games....again depending on the position and injury tho....Players who are out....I take them out...Hope this helps!

Thanks for responding. I hadn't considered playing someone hurt. I also thought since it showed the length of recovery to be several weeks, it meant the player shouldn't play.

For some reason, I thought playing a "probable" would a:) either increase the severity of the original injury, b:) increase the chance of an injury to occur somewhere else.

Part b does happen.....Again it depends on the position for me....for example if a WR has a hand injury and it says he's out for several weeks...I may keep him out 2 weeks just due to the fact that he would have increase number of drops and fumbles due to having a injured hand...If my stud DT has a hand injury and is out for several weeks I'll let him play especially if it says probable

Just play around with it....Only thing I can tell you is that I play probable players a lot....Once I played a probable LT and he gave up 5 sacks....So of course the next week I just let him rest up til he got better....I just go with the flow and the strength of schedule and how bad I need key position players to play and how big of a drop off in talent I have if that player doesn't play....Totally up to you how you'll roll just a little advice...But yeah I have had players get injured longer sometimes the season because I played them through an injury....

"probable" is less severe than an NFL injury reported as "probable" because, in the NFL, there basically isn't a player who is not playing injured past the first game. It's there to let you know that your player is not at 100%. If you have an equal player at that position you might swap them in the depth chart, but otherwise you can generally ignore 'probable' players.

For that matter, I check all Questionable players to see how close they are to the 50 mark on their health ratings for the injured area. If they are close to 50, I let them play through it.

This is going to take me another day or two before I have all the tricks and nuisances figured out.

Oh, one last word. I apologize in advance to all my opponents who will feel less than satisfied at how easy you are able to put a whuppin on me this season.

I won't predict how long it's going to take to improve my play, but I at least hope to have a better grasp on the "basics" by season end.
